On Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Maison de la Poste in Brussels, we coordinated the 20th-anniversary celebration of Mederi, an organization that promotes safe and ethical business practices in home nursing by guiding independent home nursing practices and offering support and supplementary home care services up to the point of care requests. More than 400 home nurses and healthcare professionals attended the presentations.
Several meritorious individuals and organizations were also honored. Centered around a ‘cycling’ theme, the presentation was hosted in both national languages by Maarten Vangramberen, VRT sports journalist. The start of each session was heralded by the familiar ‘Rodania’ tune, and the laureates received a yellow jersey, a green jersey, and a polka dot jersey (= Tour de France). The coffee break featured a ‘refreshment stop’, where every guest leaving the hall toward the catering area received a bag containing a banana, an apple, a nut mix with sultanas, an energy bar, a miniature cyclist, and some sponsor brochures.
Following the presentations, the anniversary was celebrated with an evening party featuring drinks and appetizers, where attendees mingled and danced enthusiastically.
